Roberto Burle Marx was one of the most important landscape designers in the world, but not only that. He was also an amazing chef, musician, singer, artist, landscape designer, painter, sculptor and so on.
On this tour, we will drive to the West Zone of Rio, approx. 1,5h, to the most remote area of the city.
The landscape is amazing with beautiful beaches, lagoons, mangroves and protected beach vegetation.
We will visit the former house of Burle Marx where he cultivated and tested plant species from all over the world, to make studies about his gardens.
The house is recognized as a UNESCO Heritage Site as Cultural Landscape.
The visits are only guided internaly by their on staff and have to be booked far in advance. Please contact me to check the availability.
After visiting the property we can have lunch in one of the delicious sea food restaurants in the area!
Driving back and forth we will pass by the most beautiful beaches in Rio de Janeiro - Grumari, Prainha, Macumba, Recreio, Barra da Tijuca, São Conrado, Leblon and Ipanema.
